Shabby Chic

Shabby Chic

The brief for this project was to create rustic distressed French “shabby chic” look.

Using rough textured plaster, then applying paint and crackle glaze to create the idea of cracking, flaking paint.

Scumble glaze was applied last of all to give it an aged, seasoned look.

A quality finish was achieved by opting for scaffolding. It allowed for thorough preparation of surfaces prior to painting windows internally and externally in Farrow & Ball exterior water based eggshell.

Exterior Decorators

Exterior painting that lasts. In order to achieve this attention is paid to getting the preparation right and creating a sound surface for the subsequent coats. Quality brands are used to achieve a lasting finish, we have been impressed with the improvements in water based paints for use on exterior woodwork. The drying times compared to oil based paint is so much quicker, allowing us to get the coats on. With the correct preparation and undercoats water based paints can be used over existing oil based paint.

All windows and doors were in need of preparation to bring them up to spec. Windows finished in a cream exterior oil based gloss and the doors were undercoated and top coat in Farrow & Ball exterior water based gloss.

Church Decorating Project

Church Decorating

This was as you can see quite a project. The height of the ceilings and the pews and altars fixed into position were obstacles that had to be overcome.

The tower scaffold had to be dropped and reassembled in order to move about the church.

We worked very hard to complete on time for an upcoming wedding!!

Decorex London

This project, an exhibition stand for a harrogate based company required filling and first coats at the warehouse before transporting it to the exhibition site in London where it was reassembled. The stand required further prep and final coats on site and a final coat of varnish for durability. The theme and style of the stand created a fantastic setting to show this amazing product.

Basement Apartment

Basement Apartment

Here are some images of painting and decorating to a basement flat in Harrogate. The walls were stripped of the existing lining and decorative paper prior to the necessary areas been tanked. Once fully dry the walls were lined. Walls and ceiling were then painted in the colour and finish of the customers choice. Woodwork was prepared and painted and the floors were stripped back using a floor sander and edger to remove existing varnish. The floors were treated with two coats of a wood wax in an oak colour.
